What Convert is

Convert is a growing set of focused, free file-conversion tools — PNG to ICO, image compression to an exact size, HEIC to JPG, AVIF to JPG and more. Every tool does one job well.

Why it's different

Almost every online converter uploads your file to a server, then makes you wait, caps your file size, watermarks the result, or pushes a sign-up. Convert does the opposite: the conversion happens on your own device, in your browser. That single choice is what makes it instant (no upload round-trip), unlimited and free (there is no server cost to pass on to you), and private (your files never leave your device — there is literally no server to send them to).

How it works

Each tool uses standard browser technology — the Canvas API for image work, and small open-source libraries for formats like HEIC — running locally in your browser tab. Nothing is transmitted. You can even use most tools offline once the page has loaded.
